Flat Panel TV's and Power Consumption

Flat panel TV's continue to come down in price and are a very popular item this holiday season.  If you look at the ads in the Sunday paper's, you won't see any traditional tube based TV's, but rather a grand selection of LCD and Plasma TV's.  If you are environmentally conscious, you'll also want to know that these new TV's do consume more power than your traditional TV set.  About twice as much.  If this is a concern for you, you'll definitely want to look at LCD technology over plasma.  LCD's consume less than plasma and offer very good picture quality.
