I wanted to follow up on my first post about getting the Amazon Kindle. I've had it for about a week now and have just taken it on my first trip. It's proving to be as functional and convenient as I had hoped. I subscribed to the Wall Street Journal, so each time I look at the Kindle on a new day, I have that days edition of the Journal waiting for me. I like that.
I am currently reading the book Killing Sacred Cows by Garrett Gunderson and have loaded that on my Kindle. I think the thing I like most about reading this book on the Kindle is that I don't have to worry about losing my page! The Kindle comes back to the exact spot I stopped at and I can add bookmarks at any time.
There are a couple of things I don't love, like the silver cursor on the right side that helps you navigate the menus and the slight hesitation as it changes pages, but these are minor complaints at best. The reading screen is crisp and really does seem like you are reading on paper. The Kindle is feather light and very convenient to take to the gym and on a plane. I really like having one small, light device that can double for a dirty, large newspaper and a thick, sometimes bulky book. If you read a lot, I do recommend the Kindle.
