Well, I finally bit the bullet and got a Kindle from Amazon. In case you don't know what the Kindle is, it's a wireless reading device, an electronic book in the truest sense. It's surprisingly thin and light and display is absolutely paper crisp.
I've been debating getting the Kindle for months. I love the con cept, but wasn't convinced that this device would fare any better than previous attempts. Most have not delivered on enough convenience and clarity to be successful. Kindle appears to have learned from these mistakes.
The interface is fairly intuitive, though not without some issues. Regardless, it's incredibly easy to get content on the device and read it. The Kindle has a built in wireless modem and you can browse the Amazon Kindle Store from the device or on your computer. Purchases you make are downloaded very quickly to device and available in nearly an instant.
I'm looking forward to reading the Wall Street Journal every morning and easily jumping to whatever book I'm currently reading. This will be especially convenient at the gym as I won't have to juggle a bulky book on the elliptical or treadmill and it will be a lot more convenient to carry to the gym or anywhere. I'll post again after I have some time under my belt with the device, but I'm certainly pleased with what I see so far.
