From Monday, August 4th through Thursday, August 7th, I will be attending the annual Breakaway conference put on by CompTIA. This is, by far, the best industry conference I attend each year. It brings the best of the IT industry together for a few powerful days. There will be a wide array of business and technology topics discussed, as well as access to major IT industry players and views into where the IT industry is headed. I always come away with excellent new ideas to benefit our clients and our internal operations.
The schedule is grueling, often starting at 7 AM and not ending until close to midnight, but it is one of the most productive weeks I have each year. I know I will return with many ideas to help our clients with various aspects of their businesses. I also know I will learn several new strategies to help us be a better company. I have several meetings setup with various individuals and organizations and I expect to learn a lot and offer a lot in return. That's one of the best benefits of a conference like this, you absolutely get out of it what you are willing to put in to it. To justify the time and expense of being out of the office for 4 days, you have to be willing to put in what you hope to get out, and Breakaway always delivers. I hope to blog during the event and look forward to returning energized and educated to better help our clients and staff.
